The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the suspect in an armed robbery that took place Monday night at the Dollar General in Crestline.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a Dollar General cashier reported she was working the cash register at the store at 905 E. Main St. around 9:49 p.m. Monday when a male walked into the store and ordered her to give him the money in the cash register.
The cashier told deputies that he was a black male in his 40s wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt with dark colored pants and white gloves. She also reported that he was wearing “strange” glasses and a wig.
The cashier reported that the suspect said, “Give me the money and hurry up or I’m going to shoot you.” The woman said after she gave him all of the money, the suspect ordered her to the ground and told her to stay there for 20 minutes after he left. After he left, the cashier then yelled for her manager and advised her of what happened.
The manager said that she did not see the incident.
Two deputies with dogs responded to the scene, but were unable to locate the suspect.
