Richland County Commissioner Marilyn John will be the guest speaker at the Richland County Development Group's Economic Excellence Awards.

The Richland Community Development Group’s Second Annual Economic Excellence Awards will highlight the Strategic Plan developed to move the county forward. County Commissioner Marilyn John will be the featured speaker at the event which will be held at the Holiday Inn, 116 Park Avenue West, Mansfield on March 24 at 5:30 p.m.

These awards will provide an opportunity to highlight those businesses, individuals and organizations that have had significant impact on the growth and development of the local economy. Awards will be given in categories including Business Excellence, Economic Impact, Distinguished Performance and Investing in our Future.

The event is an opportunity to celebrate all the great efforts that are being made to improve the community. Richland County Development Group (RCDG) will recognize companies that have made significant investments here in the last year, organizations that have made a positive impact on our economic climate, individuals who have contributed in an outstanding manner and entities that have worked to better ensure a positive future for our area.

The Richland Young Professionals (RYP) will also be making awards presentations. RYP is a sector of the RCDG whose goal is to connect with the community, collaborate with each other and help Richland County thrive.
