Betty M. Love, age 97, resident of Shelby died Monday March 2, 2015 in Hospice House in Ashland.
Born June 30, 1917 to Henry and Edith Patterson Weber, Sr. she had been a Shelby/Mansfield area resident all of her life. A 1935 graduate of Shelby High School, she had attended Mansfield Business College and had been employed as a secretary to Arlo Willett at Central Elementary School in Shelby. Following her employment she was a consummate homemaker for her husband and sons.
Betty enjoyed gardening, baking and traveling and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Pat) Love of Mansfield, and Gary Love of Columbus; six grandchildren, Jeff and Jay Love, Jenelle (Max) Love-VanAusdal, Matthew (Amelia) Love, Christopher Love and Anthony (Vanna) Dulin; six great-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, and one great granddaughter on the way; daughter-in-law Chris Love of Ft. Collins, Colorado; special nieces Becky Whitney and Bonni “Whitney” Yarman nephews, other relatives and special care taker Tiffany Moore.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband A. Eugene “Gene” Love, her son Greg Love, one sister Gretchen Whitney and brother Henry “Bud” Weber and sister-in-law, Dana Love.
Memorial services will be held at noon Monday March 9, 2015 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Paul Lintern will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
