Forrest L. Neyer, 80, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Forrest was born on April 26, 1934, in Leoti, KS, to Hubert D. and Vida (Tibbetts) Neyer. He attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. He proudly served his country during peacetime in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Italy. He was a long time member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, where he served in many capacities, including men’s prayer group leader and deacon. Forrest loved to play tennis and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry Neyer; three children, Carla (Michael) Jackson of Columbus, GA, John (Sharon)Neyer of Shelby, and Judy (Jim) Trueblood of Perrysville; seven grandchildren, Nolan, Kinzie, and Mariah Neyer, Sydney, JP, and Ashton Trueblood, and Elaine Jackson; one sister, Phyllis Finn of Manhattan, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Road, with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery, with full military honors being performed by the Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
