Officer Mike Garn was indicted on 40 counts of criminal charges during the February Grand Jury session on Feb. 12. The indictments were served when he surrendered himself to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.
The Mansfield Division of Police placed Officer Mike Garn on administrative leave on November 26th, 2014 pending a criminal investigation. Allegations of misconduct had been uncovered by fellow officers and then reported to the Police administration.
Mansfield Detectives were assigned to follow up on the allegations. Upon completion of the investigation, multiple charges were submitted to the Richland County Prosecutors Office, which led to the Feb. 12 indictment.
