Kenn Spencer, the head coach of the Appleseed Premier U11 Boys and U11 Girls, was honored in Cleveland by the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN) as Competitive Coach of the Year on Saturday, Feb. 7. Both his boys and girls teams won Division 2 State Championships this fall and both teams were promoted to Division 1 for the Spring season.

They went a combined 15-1 for in-season play.

“It’s truly special to be selected as OYSAN Coach of the Year. Just to be standing on that stage at the award banquet surrounded by so many accomplished coaches was such an honor—to win the award was very humbling and is a reflection of how fortunate I am, day in and day out, to be surrounded by such a great group of coaches, parents, and athletes,“ said Spencer.

Spencer has been involved in soccer since 2002 and is currently president of Ontario Youth Sports and Appleseed Soccer.

“Being able to coach our kids at a high level and see them compete with bigger clubs all over Ohio is very rewarding” “Appleseed Premier is full of teams that are primarily community based and I am so proud that Ontario Youth Sports is able to offer this to our kids”
