The Gorman Nature Center will be holding a public bird banding demonstration called “A Bird in the Hand” on Saturday, Jan. 17. It will be a hands-on, “birds-eye” view of winter birds and bird banding. A naturalist will be catching, scientifically banding, and releasing wild birds from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Nature Center.

The Gorman Nature Center also will be hosting its monthly informal night sky watch on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. Join us as we explore the night sky with telescopes for planets, stars and galaxies. This month’s session will be held only if the sky is clear.

The Gorman Nature Center is located at 2295 Lexington Ave., south of Mansfield. All programs are free and open to the public. For additional information call (419) 884-3764.
