OhioHealth MedCentral Hospitals President Jean Halpin is pleased to announce that Patti Kastelic has accepted the position of Director of Cancer Services, effective Jan. 12. Kastelic has served as Nursing Director covering the Critical Care, Stepdown, Telemetry and Trauma units for the past 23 years. She has been with MedCentral for 35 years.

In her new role, she will be responsible for operational, financial and quality performance of cancer departments throughout MedCentral, including the Oncology/Palliative/Respite Unit at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital and Cancer Care Units at both Mansfield and Shelby Hospitals.

Kastelic will facilitate growth, quality and service for the entire Cancer Service line across the continuum of care including Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment, Patient Navigation, Survivorship and Community Outreach. She also will be responsible for program expansion to meet the Commission on Cancer and MD Anderson Accreditations.

After being named the American Cancer Society’s Nurse of Hope for Ohio in 1985, Kastelic traveled all over the state as a featured speaker. She currently serves as president of the Richland Cancer Foundation, which provides support to cancer patients in need.
