Dec. 31, 2014 brings to a close the first year of the State of Ohio’s Medicaid Program under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) using a new web based system called Ohio Benefits.
Starting Jan. 1, 2015, annual reviews of recipient’s Medicaid eligibility begins. In the coming months, Medicaid recipients will be mailed a notice to complete an annual review of Medicaid eligibility in the form of a Medicaid Renewal Form. Recipients with an online Self Service Account at www.ohio.benefits.gov will also receive an electronic notice. If a review is due in January, a Medicaid Renewal Form notice has already been issued. The form must be submitted in order to complete a review and explore continued Medicaid eligibility.
Richland County Job & Family Services recommends, to expedite the review of Medicaid Eligibility, submitting the Medicaid Renewal Form via the recipient’s online Ohio Benefits Self Service account. Ohio Benefits Self Service may be accessed at www.benefits.ohio.gov. It is not too late to create an Ohio Benefits Self Service account; visit www.benefits.ohio.gov and select “View Your Account,” then “Go” under Ohio Benefits Application. You will be prompted to create a user name if you do not have an account.
