Charlotte French Loehrig

Charlotte French Loehrig, 84, of Mansfield, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Winchester Terrace. Born April 16, 1930 in Murray City, Ohio, she was the daughter of Gerald and Audrey (Hopstetter) Robson. 

Following her retirement from Gorman Rupp, Charlotte then went on to work for United Telephone. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the American Legion #257 in Loudonville and the VFW #8586 in Perrysville. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed camping but her greatest joy was being around her grandchildren whom she dearly loved.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Donald Loehrig; three children, Ila (Andy) Kershaw of Mansfield, Virginia (Bernie) Yoha of Ontario and Al (Jane) French of Mansfield; two step children, Joni Loehrig and Steve (Rei) Loehrig both of Florida; nine grandchildren, Darcie (JB) Ballenger, Andy (Liz) Kershaw, Doug (Karen) Newlon, Dean (Amanda) Newlon, Craig (Angie Robinson) Newlon, Chris (Lori) Newlon, Jody (Josh) Alexander, Kim (Sam) Stark and Amy French; two step grandchildren, Steve Loehrig and Jesse Loehrig; 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 31 years, Alfred French and a brother, Gerald Robson.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services by St. Peter’s Catholic Church will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
