Glenna J. Hill passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Mansfield Memorial Homes. She was 91.

She was born October 6, 1923 to parents Philip A. & Sylvia J. (Redman) Claypool in Gratiot, Ohio.

On April 16, 1945 she married F. Seibert Hill and together they spent 63 wonderful years until he passed away in 2008. They are together again.

In younger years, she took pleasure in visiting with the women in her neighborhood; they would chat and drink coffee and play all sorts of games. Some of her favorite games included Scrabble, Parcheesi, Jotto and Solitaire. But above all, Glenna cherished time spent with family.

She was a member of Eastern Star for more than 70 years with the Muskingum Chapter #485 in Zanesville and for a time held dual membership with Ruth Chapter #17 in Mansfield. She was once very active with Girl Scouts of Ohio.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannette F. & Jimmie Norfleet of Mansfield; grandchildren Aimee & John Campbell of Mansfield, and Michael & Amy Norfleet of Lucas; great-grandchildren Emilee and Peyton Bodnar, Chelsi, Jacob, and Joshua Campbell, Devin and Matthew Norfleet and Jordan Shepherd; and a brother-in-law Claudie Hill of Mansfield.

Along with her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Vivian G. (Claypool) Burns; two brothers Loren E. Claypool and Gary M. Claypool; a sister-in-law Genevieve Walters of Lexington; and three brothers-in-law Elbert Hill, Rubert Hill, and George W. Hill.

Her family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where an Eastern Star service will begin at 3:45 p.m. A funeral service will be held there 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Robert Kurtz officiating and burial to follow in Mansfield Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association may be made at the funeral home.
