The Richland County Republican party Central Committee Chairman Bob Rodgers has been notified of a vacancy in the position of Ontario
Council-at-Large for the City of Ontario.
Those persons interested in the position should drop off a hard copy of a cover letter and resume at Ontario City Hall, 555 Stumbo Road before 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. Those interested may send an email to Bob Rodgers at RTRXKE@aol.com with the cover letter and resume attached by 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.
Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 733.31 “filling vacancies in appointive or elective offices”, the four Republican Ontario Precinct Committeemen (Larry Collins, Mark Weidemyre, Eddie Gallo and Mark Arnold) will meet to determine a replacement for the Council-at-Large position.
Ohio Revised Code Section 733.31 reads, “(2) Not less than five nor more than forty-five days after a vacancy occurs, the county central committee, acting through its members who reside in the city where the vacancy occurs, shall meet for the purpose of making an appointment. Not less than four days before the date of the meeting the chairperson or secretary of the central committee shall send by first class mail to every member of such central committee who resides in the city where the vacancy occurs a written notice which shall state the time and place of such meeting and the purpose thereof. A majority of the members of the central committee present at such meeting may make the Appointment.”

Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 26 at 6 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 29 at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 6 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 5 at 6 pm
All meetings will be at Ontario City Hall, 555 Stumbo Road, Ontario, OH. The purpose will be discussion and interviewing of candidates for replacing Ontario Council-at-Large Republican Councilman.
The meetings are public and a vote to fill the vacancy may occur on Tuesday, Dec. 23. If not, the meeting will continue into Friday, Dec. 26, and so forth until a decision is rendered.
