Katherine M. “Kate” (Stoller) Oesch

Katherine M. “Kate” (Stoller) Oesch, age 87, of Shelby, died peacefully at her home , Friday, December 12, 2014 surrounded by her family.

She was born April 29, 1927 in Paulding County, Ohio the daughter of Michael George and Magdelina (Manz) Stoller. She was a graduate of Paulding County High School. Following the early death of her husband, John, Kate began a 30 + year career at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield where she was fondly known by many as Katie.

She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church on Illinois Avenue in Mansfield where she was a very active member. She was an extensive traveler, having visited every continent except Antarctica and Australia. She enjoyed restoring her family home, reading, gardening, sewing and making wine from grapes grown on her farm.

Kate is survived by her 15 children: Michael (Jackie) Oesch of Alabama, Cheryl (Ed) Schumacher of Shelby, Cinda Walp of Tennessee, Sally (Mel) Westcott of Texas, Sara (Chuck) Jones of Shelby, Nancy (Paul) Dorinsky of North Carolina, Judy (Dennis) Witt of Cincinnati, Lori McCartney of Shelby, Mary (Jim) Cartwright of Texas, Dr. Betsy Oesch of Texas, Kristi (Alaric) Cauley of New Jersey, Tammy (Dave) Grauer of Ganges, Amy (Jeff) Murray of Shelby, John (Lori) Oesch of Portsmouth, Traci Sonon of Shelby; Son-in-law: Chip Fugate of Pennsylvania; 31 Grandchildren; 8 Great grandchildren; 4 siblings: Anna Marie Plummer, Delores Riggenbach, Josephine Stoller, and Jet (Jeannie) Stoller.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John J. Oesch in 1974; a daughter: Heidi M. Fugate in October 2014; a grandson: Ryan Schumacher in 1976; and by 2 brothers: Ellsworth Stoller and Kenneth Stoller.

Friends and family are welcome on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 2-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Mark Masters and Fred Domka officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
