MANSFIELD: Elenor Irene “Effie” Brown passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 in Hospice House of Ashland surrounded by her family. She was 97.

She was born June 16, 1917 to parents Charles & Clara (Edison) Stuckey in Toledo. Elenor was graduated from Napoleon High School, and she later owned Stewart’s Root Beer Stand and worked there 27 years until her retirement.

On April 6, 1946 she married Miles Brown and together they spent 41 wonderful years until he passed away in 1987.

In spare time, she took pleasure in the excitement of traveling and the comfort of reading the Bible. She also enjoyed gardening and had a strong work ethic. But above all, Elenor cherished spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother with a good sense of humor and someone who never complained.

She was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church in Lucas.

She is survived by her children & their spouses: Timothy & Joy Brown of Mansfield, Mary Francola of Mansfield, Bradford & Julie Brown of Fredericktown, and Dennis & Susan Brown of Lucas; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents a daughter Karen Brown and siblings: Melvin Stuckey, Donald Stuckey, and Dorothy Miller.

Her family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring her life will immediately follow at 1p.m. Rev. Philip D. Banks will officiate and burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
