Ronnie C. Thompson, Sr., 73, of Galion died Wednesday December 3, 2014 unexpectedly.
Born October 19, 1941, in Grahn, Ky., he was the son of Clyde and Nell (Paynter) Thompson, Sr.. He married Judith (Perry) Thompson on April 23, 1984 and she survives.
Ronnie worked as a custodian for the City of Galion where he retired after 19 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Ronnie Thompson, Jr. of Galion, Markita Cline (Terry Wertz) of Hillsdale, Mich., Melissa “Missy” Schlairet of Crestline, Daris Thompson of Galion, Sarah Thompson of Galion, Nicole (Matt) Siegenthal of Galion, LaTonya Thompson of Ontario, 20 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, siblings, Patricia (Elgin) Lawhorn of Beaver, Diana Heffner of Beaver, Michael (Shirley) Thompson of Flemingsburg, Ky., Kay (Allen) Bassin of Mansfield, Evelyn (Larry) Bassin of Mansfield, Vanessa (Gary) Finerty of Bellville and Randy (Randa) Thompson of Galion.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Tracey Thompson, grandson, Shannon Thompson, brother, Clyde Thompson, Jr., and two sisters, Janet Mays and Sharon Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Debra Chatman officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.
