Julia Loper

LEXINGTON: Julia E. Loper, 89, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

The daughter of Henry Wyatt and Edna Mae (Little) Toombs, Julia was born July 1, 1925 in Marion.

She married Merrill “Bud” Loper on April 26, 1946.  In 1966 the Loper’s moved from Marion to Mansfield.  Julia was a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz Auxiliary.

A member of United Methodist Church of the Cross in Lexington, Julia sang in the choir and was a member of the women’s missionary society through the church.  She volunteered for Heartland Head Start of Mansfield. 

She is survived by three sons, Troy (Sandy) Loper of Youngstown, Dennis (Mari Jane) Loper of Poland, and Perry Loper of Lexington and seven grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Merrill “Bud” Loper.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. in Lexington Cemetery.

The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral home is serving the Loper family.  Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association may be made through the funeral home.
