Unofficial reporting suggests that Ohio voters swung decisively to Republicans. Incumbents in major judicial seats also won their races.
Republican Gov. John Kasich won easily over Democrat challenger Edward Fitgerald. Unofficially, Kasich pulled 64 percent of the vote. Bob Hart carried 3 percent.
The Congressional seat for Ohio District 12 will once again be held by Pat Tiberi. Tiberi, a Republican, unofficially will receive 68 percent of the vote to soundly beat challengers David Tibbs (28 percent) and Bob Hart (4 percent.)
John Husted unofficially won 61 percent of the vote to be retained as Ohio’s Secretary of State. Democrat Nina Turner carried 35 percent and Kevin Knedler received 5 percent.
Attorney General Mike DeWine beat challenger David Pepper by an unofficial count of 60 percent to 40 percent.
Incumbents Sharon Kennedy and Judi French will maintain their places on the Supreme Court of Ohio.
Craig Baldwin won a race against Natalie Haupt to retain his position as the judge for the Fifth District Court of Appeals.
