The latest Subway location in Mansfield held their ribbon cutting ceremony on the afternoon of Friday, September 26. The location has been open for business for three weeks and will hold a grand opening on October 11.
On Friday, Phil Scott, president of Mansfield City Council, joined 29-year-old Subway franchise owner Justin McChesney in cutting the ribbon for the site.
Justin McChesney and his wife, Amy McChesney, have been franchise owners for seven years now in Richland County. The Hanley Road location will be their third franchise. Construction began in May, but Justin McChesney noted that planning has taken over a year.
“Having a drive-through for this restaurant is a different animal. But having one is good because of its location being near to the interstate. I feel real confident that this spot is going to succeed. We’re off to a good start,” said Justin McChesney.
The Subway is located on Hanley Road near the intersection of Interstate 71 and Hanley Road. The site neighbors other franchise restaurants such as Taco Bell, Arby’s, McDonald’s and Burger King. Doc Stumbo, a member of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce on hand for the ribbon cutting of the newest addition to the intersection.
“Anything that offers jobs for Richland County is good,” commented Stumbo. He also noted Richland County’s growth in recent years.
“It’s looking better all the time. Small businesses like this one create bigger companies in the long run,” he said.
Subway’s new restaurant will be bring the total number of franchises in Richland County to 14. The new facility’s address is 2375 Interstate Circle at Hanley Road. On October 11, the site will have a buy-one-get-one-free sale of six-inch subs for their grand opening.
