Richland Academy is excited to kick off the fall 2014 semester with some exciting new classes starting the week of Sept. 8.
Richland Academy offers a special section of classes dedicated to the “Early Arts.” These classes provide young students from ages 0-7 exposure to a variety of music and dance class at a young age. It is the academy’s desire that the Early Arts program provide a loving, nurturing environment where your child can thrive emotionally, socially, and creatively.
New this year, the academy is offering Kindermusik Wiggle and Grow family class for children ages 0-4 and their guardians. Older siblings and other family members are encouraged to participate. Each week your children will love singing, dancing, and playing instruments with you and their new friends and you’ll love helping them practice a wide variety of abilities such as gross and fine motor skills, turn-taking, social skills, and active listening. Plus, the fun (and learning!) continues with the Kindermusik@Home digital home materials, including music from class, musical activities, and each month’s story. In unit one, it’s “Time for Lunch.” This delicious unit explores the theme of food, food, food. So get your musical appetite ready. In Unit 2, you and your toddler can learn about colors and shapes on the farm. This unit is loaded with old farm favorites, circle dances, and lots of learning. Come on down to the farm.
For our young dancers, the academy is offering classes for students ages 3-5. These classes are offered on Saturdays as well as weekdays. The dancers in these classes not only learn the basics of ballet and have fun with music and dance; but also experience being in a class with other dancers and begin to understand the etiquette of class behavior and structure.
Richland Academy also ois ffering Movements & Mats class; an introduction to basic tumbling that develops balance and coordination for children ages 3-5 years old on Fridays from 10-10:45 a.m.
Mommy & Me Music classes for children 18-36 months are scheduled on Wednesdays from 5:45-6:15 p.m. This class offers a musical experience for toddlers and their parents.
And back by popular demand the academy will also be offering KidzRock! This program teaches children as young as 4 how to play an instrument in the setting of a rock band. This class will be offered on Tuesday evenings for children ages 4-7. Space is limited so please call or go online to register today!
