The North End Farmer’s Market continues to bring the freshest of food in the friendliest of atmospheres. On Aug. 26, chefs Anne Massie and Aaron Schopp of Altered Eats will be demonstrating innovative recipes using seasonal produce. They will show how to make August Tomato and Cucumber Salad with Fresh Cucumber Basil Dressing and Summer Abundance Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette – something new to do with your favorite garden vegetables. Demonstrations and tastings will be at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The market’s ongoing music series continues with Flora Adkins, along with Mike Stevens and Adrian Dean on guitar and mandolin, singing gospel and folk music.

NEFM vendors will be providing an array of homegrown produce, baked goods and unique crafts.

The market is open the second and fourth Tuesdays, rain or shine 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the USW Union Hall, 376 W. Longview Ave., Mansfield.

Shoppers can still double their Direction Card benefits up to $20 for fresh produce purchases.
