Arva Collins, 84, of Mansfield, died August 4, 2014. Born March 29, 1930 in Mingo County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Andy and Blanche (Perry) Ball. Her number one enjoyment was going to Church. Arva enjoyed word search puzzles, reading her bible, and gardening.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty (James) Riggins, Brenda Parker, both of Mansfield, and Bonnie (Mark) Mellott of Butler; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ida Sorrell of WV; sister-in-law, Ruby Ball of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Canada Collins; daughter, Ruby Collins; brothers, Ballard Ball and Andy Ball Jr.; and sisters, Letha Farley and Esther Mahone.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Bruce Copley. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
