Joyce I. Tucker, 79, of Galion, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at home surrounded by her family, after a short illness.

Joyce was born in Galion on Sept. 17, 1934, to the late Cecil and Velma (Poth) Wilson. She married James E. Tucker on March 6, 1965 and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2014.

She was retired from the former North Electric and PECO in Galion. She had previously worked as a Nurses Aid at the former Atwood Nursing Home, Galion. Joyce enjoyed camping and watching sports including her teams, the Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her five children, C. Thomas & Lydia Bauer, Troy, William M. Bauer, Galion, Christopher M. & Debbie Bauer, Galion, Debra K. Dicus, Galion and Robert & Melinda Bauer, Galion, her seventeen grandchildren, her 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her two granddaughters, her sister Jacqueline Young and her brother Russell Wilson.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Deacon William Horning officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
