The Ontario Fourth of July Festival is sponsoring this year’s Miss Ontario Pageant which will be held Saturday, June 28 in the Ontario Middle School Auditorium. Cost of admission is $6.
Competing for the crown will be:
Abigail Baumgard is a senior at Ontario High School. Baumgard is involved in show choir and plans to attend The Ohio State University where she will major in business with a double minor in psychology and worship ministry. She is the daughter of Jeff and Tania Baumgard.
Lauren Beard is a sophomore at Ontario High School and dances at Richland Academy. She hopes to become a professional dancer before becoming a physical therapist specializing in dance therapy. She is the daughter of Julie Beard and Dave Morehead.
Melanie Hyder is a senior at Ontario High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and plans to attend Ashland University to study nursing. She is the daughter of Lisa and Darrell Hyder.
Allyson Knapp is a senior at Pioneer Joint Vocational School. She is a student trainer for Ontario’s football team and plans to study athletic training in college. She is the daughter of Shelly and Kris Knapp.
Christy Reynolds is a senior at Ontario High School and plans to attend Michigan State College where she will study forensic science. She is the daughter of Kimberly Murphy and Chris Reynolds and step-daughter of Sean Murphy and Charlotte Reynolds.
Taylor Schwein is a sophomore at Ontario High School. She hopes to attend The Ohio State University and major in pre-med before attending the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. She is the daughter of Dr. Jeffrey and Carla Schwein.
Emily Toth is a senior at Ontario High School. She hopes to join the military and major in psychology and help wounded soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is the daughter of Steve and Valerie Toth.
