Richland County Common Pleas Court Judge Brent N. Robinson, as a judicial leader in the community, has been asked by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor and Gov. John R. Kasich to assemble a group of other community leaders to attend Ohio’s Judicial Symposium on Opiate Addiction organized which take place June 30 in Columbus.

In addition to Judge Robinson, the team will consist of Mansfield Municipal Court Judge Frank Ardis, Jr., Richland County Prosecutor James J. Mayer, Jr., Richland County Commissioner Tim Wert, Richland County Sheriff Chief Deputy Joe Masi, Richland County Drug Court Senior Officer Pam Myers, attorney Steve Cockley, Executive Director of the Richland County Mental Health Board Joe Trolian, President and CEO of Catalyst Life Services Veronica Groff, and Executive Director of Community Action for Capable Youth Tracee Pollard-Anderson.

Judge Robinson currently oversees the Richland County Substance Abuse Treatment Court which is a specialty docket court which focuses on drug abuse and addiction. Judge Robinson’s Drug Court integrates the criminal justice system with addiction treatment organizations. The symposium will focus on providing offenders with the most up-to-date treatment options for addiction including medication assisted treatment options.
