St. Peter’s School has named its new middle school and high school principal. On Thursday, the Rev. Gregory Hite, pastor and superintendent at St. Peter’s Parish and School, sent an email to the school and community announcing the hire of Michael L. Wasiniak. Wasiniak will replace Tressa Reith, who is stepping down to spend time with family after 22 years at St. Peter’s.

“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Michael L. Wasiniak, M. Ed., has accepted the position of St. Peter’s Junior High and High School Principal, beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, said Hite in the email.

Wasiniak taught Biology, Anatomy and Physiology and Marine Biology at Norwalk St. Paul High School. Wasiniak’s credentials number 25 years of teaching on the high school level and he has spent seven years serving in an administrative capacity.

Wasiniak also holds a Master’s in Educational Administration, grades 7-12, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and General Science. He was ordained a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Toledo in September of 2013.

“Wasiniak is a product and proponent of Catholic education and I believe our St. Peter’s community will also find him to be skilled in communication and passionate about the mission of our Catholic school,” added Hite.

Wasiniak and his family reside in Norwalk, Ohio; and comes to St. Peter’s highly recommended. The school’s search committee made him a unanimous recommendation.
