We told our photographer to take pictures until the home team had batted through their line up – well let’s just say it did not take long. With 7 runs in the bottom of the first the 9U Bullets were off and running; with the game pretty much decided we started to take notice of other things and this is what we saw.
The crack of the bat, the smell of popcorn, the roar of the crowd this is baseball – and to the 9U Bullets – the ONLY place they want to be, is together, on a baseball field.
A team, with its core players, starting together at ages seven and eight, the 9U Bullets are more than a team, but a group of kids who genuinely love the game – and each other.
Head Coach, Travis Church is invested in these boys and has been an extremely positive influence. He is patient, energetic, and his Varsity-level coaching knowledge is second to none. The team is comprised of several boys from Morrow and Delaware Counties, but they have gelled into a band of brothers. Parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents all come out to watch these boys play regularly and have also all become family.
There is something about the game of baseball that brings people together. That is especially true of this group of boys.
