MANSFIELD — The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Jodie A. Perry, IOM has been selected as the Chamber’s new president. The Richland Area Chamber’s Board of Directors approved Perry for the position after they conducted an extensive local and nationwide search. Perry will begin work in her new position on July 7 and will oversee a staff of three.

“I am honored to join the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce,” said Perry. “The work of the Chamber is vital to the economic success of the community. I look forward to working with the Board, staff and volunteers to continue to build an organization that meets and exceeds the expectations of the members and the community.”

Perry returns to the area with successful Chamber experience having most recently served as President and CEO of the Greece, New York, chamber of commerce since December 2006. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the operations of the 800-member organization. She also served as the Vice-President of the Greece Chamber Charitable Foundation and President of Greece Chamber Benefit Partners, a fully licensed insurance brokerage.

Prior to her position of President and CEO of the Greece Chamber, Perry led the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce and served on staff at the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, both located in Ohio. She also worked as the Deputy Chief Clerk for the US Senate Banking Committee. 

In 2008, Perry graduated from the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management earning the IOM designation. She also served as the Treasurer of the Chamber Alliance of New York State. In 2010 she was recognized as a “Woman of Distinction” by New York State Sen. Joseph Robach.  The importance of business was instilled at a young age as she grew up in a family of entrepreneurs.

Richland Area Chamber Chair Karl Milliron, said, “We had many strong candidates from Richland County and throughout the country. Jodie Perry was the ideal choice for many reasons. She has roots to the area and brings more than 14 years of diverse experience to the Chamber, even at the national level. With Jodie’s exceptional background and experience she will complement the new vision of the Chamber, which includes economic retention and expansion, visiting area business and industry to get a pulse on business climate, and to assist all economic partners in the area. The Chamber is about helping our businesses thrive.”

Milliron added, “We are pleased to welcome Jodie back to the area and feel that her leadership and proven track record will be an excellent addition to the Chamber’s staff and we look forward to her future accomplishments.”

Perry is a graduate of Ashland University with a degree in Political Science and Religion. She is also a graduate of the US Institute for Organizational Management.
