Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion is pleased to announce another outstanding line-up for “Music in the Park 2014.”

The free summer concerts will be held each Tuesday evening, June 3 through July 15, at 7 p.m. in the Heise Park band shell, adjacent to the Galion Community Center-Y at 500 Gill Avenue.

The concert series will kick off Tuesday, June 3, with performances by the Galion High School Showtunes and Jazz Band and, new this year, the Colonel Crawford High School show choir, Vision.

“I’m pleased we are continuing this concert series tradition as Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel,” notes lead director Chuck Jackson, “These concerts appeal to music lovers of all ages.”

The Ribtickler Band will take the stage June 10, followed by audience favorite Randy Velez, known as “the Rich Little of Music,” on June 17. The big band sounds of the John Kennedy Orchestra will entertain concert-goers June 24.

United in Harmony, a men’s chorus from Crawford County, will perform July 1. Elvis fans will love “Music in the Park’s “debut of “Memories of Elvis” performed by Paul Royce of Tipp City, as he pays tribute to The King of Rock and Roll on July 8.

Back by popular demand will be GATLIN, married duo Darryl and Andrea Gatlin, rounding out the season July 15.

Funeral directors Chuck Jackson, Eric Sparks, Ken Davis, J. Todd Snyder, and Hannah Snyder look forward to “Music in the Park” as a chance to mingle with community members outside of the funeral home. “We have some crowd-pleasers from previous years, along with a few new faces in this summer’s line-up,” said Ken Davis.

Their newest staff member, Eric Sparks, who joined the family firm in January of this year, says he is “very excited to see ‘Music in the Park’ for the first time after hearing so many good things from previous years.”

This is the sixth year the funeral home has sponsored the summer concerts, which are held outside. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. Changes pertaining to weather will be announced on the Snyder Funeral Home Facebook page.
