Dorothy E. Gaubatz, 98, of Mansfield, died May 29, 2014. Born January 15,1916 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Carl and Helen (Sturgeon) Walters. Dorothy was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved the Lord with all her heart. In her earlier years, she loved to travel and in her free time, she loved playing cards. She was a faithful member of St. John’s United Church in Christ. Dorothy was a kind lady who most certainly is rejoicing in Heaven.
Surviving are her daughters, Marlene Baker and Elaine (Raymond) Baker, both of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; twenty two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Frieda Clark and Martha Bassin, both of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Gaubatz; parents; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; brothers, Jack, Eugene, Richard, Robert, and Raymond Walters; and son-in-law, James Baker.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2. 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
