William F. “Bill” Gallion, 61, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 15, at his home. Bill was born Feb. 25, 1953 in Canton, was a 1971 graduate of Lucas High School, and following graduation proudly joined the United States Navy. He was a resident of Mansfield for many years before relocating to Excelsior Springs. Bill was a 38-year employee of Stone Container/RockTenn working in both Ohio and Missouri. He was best known for his great sense of humor, his quick wittedness, his multiple artistic talents, and his love of the outdoors.
Bill is survived by his mother, Evelyn Gallion of Loudonville; his father, Charles Gallion of Millersburg; 4 sons: Bill Davis of Lucas, Steve (Mandy) Davis of Lucas, Jason (Clare) Gallion of Excelsior Springs, and Ben Gallion serving in the US Navy; 1 daughter, Jessie Gallion of Mt. Gilead; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Connie (Douglas) Herman of Perrysville, and Kathy Jo (Scott) Oswalt of Perrysville; and 1 brother, Michael Gallion of Lakeville. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Squires.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 1:00 PM in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the VFW and the American Legion will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Tuesday, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM in the Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Bill’s immediate family in care of the funeral home.
