Ervie Lee Williams, 81, passed away Tuesday evening April 29, 2014 in OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

He was born July 25, 1932 in Columbus, Mississippi to Mose Williams, Sr. and Irene (Gordon) Williams and had lived in Mansfield most of his life.

An avid gardener who enjoyed boating and fishing, Ervie had worked at Humphries and retired from The Ohio Brass Company with 30 years of service.

Ervie had served as a Deacon and Prayer Warrior.

He is survived by daughters Thelma Lee Williams of Mansfield, Dorothy Williams Sanders of Kansas City, MO and Linda (Mike) Smith of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Lydell Williams, Sam Grier, Michaela Champlin, Daniel Sanders and Shaniqua Williams; numerous great grandchildren; brothers Mose (Mary) Williams of Mansfield, Lonnie (Vivan) Williams of Grand Rapids, MI, Jimmie (Rosie) Williams of Mansfield, Willie Charles (Ella) Williams of Grand Rapids, MI, Boggy Lloyd, Henry (Linda) Lloyd, Donnie Lloyd, LD Lloyd, Robert Lloyd; sisters Annie Taylor, Susie Lee, Bernice Horton and Melissa Williams all of Mansfield, Deloris (AJ) Johnson of Canton, Bessie (Willie) Boyd of Akron, and Rosiemay (Freddie) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Louella (Vails) Williams on October 6, 2008. Also deceased are a son Ervie Lee Williams, Jr., brothers Robert Lloyd and Ozzie Lee Williams, Sr. and a sister Pearlie Mae Kelly.

The Williams family will receive friends Monday, May 5, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
