Relay For Life of Richland County takes place in June, but before that, teams are getting organized. Richland County’s Relay for Life will hold a Kick Off Rally on Saturday, March 22 at the Richland Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be entertainment, guest speakers and a Penalty Box where local dignitaries will be placed until they can raise enough money to get out.
Also available will be information on joining a team, starting a team or purchasing a Luminaria in honor or memory of a loved one. Information on resources, through the American Cancer Society, will be available to patients, family and caregivers. The mall stores have been asked to “Paint the Mall Purple” to show their support for the event.
Some of the entertainment includes Rising Starz at 11 a.m., Newhope Dance Group at 11:30 a.m., Backyard Band at 12 p.m., and Strut Your Stuff at 1 p.m.
This year’s Relay for Life is scheduled for June 28-29, 2014 at the Malabar track. This year’s theme is sports. Every team will be using this theme in their tents.
Relay For Life is an inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about what can be done to reduce our cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease. Relay For Life will be held Saturday, June 28 beginning at 12 p.m. at Malabar Intermediate School – Mehock Field 205 W Cook RD, Mansfield.
