The Richland County Farm Bureau invites everyone to attend the annual Richland County Farm Bureau Farmers Share Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 22. Breakfast will be served in the new Shelby High School Cafeteria from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
The Richland County Farm Bureau is requesting a donation of 50 cents or more for the breakfast, which includes pancakes, fresh whole hog sausage, local eggs, orange juice, milk, and coffee. The price represents what farmers receive for their share of food production.
All of the money donated at the breakfast is given to food pantries in Richland County. In honor of the FFA Chapters who help, the Farm Bureau has donated over $5,300 to area food banks and the Harmony House in the past five years.
There will be several area farmers and businesses in attendance with displays featuring farms, insurance and GMC vehicles as well as free Blood Pressure checks.Â
âFarmers and ranchers remain committed to producing safe, healthy food for consumers, and we share with consumers many of the same concerns about putting nutritious meals on the table on a tight budget,â said Earl Lynch, Richland County Farm Bureau Breakfast Co-Chair. âBy inviting consumers to our Farmersâ Share Breakfast, we hope to connect with them and provide a better understanding of the origins of the food on their plates.â
