Ontario Councilman-at-Large Roger Heston has submitted his letter of resignation from Ontario Council “effective immediately.”
In an email sent to Richland County Republican Party Chairman Mike Casto and Ontario Council President Larry Collins on Jan. 20, Heston stated, “I regret to inform you that, effective immediately, I am resigning my Council At-Large at the City of Ontario for personal reasons.”
Heston was elected in the November General Election for a four year term beginning January 2014.
Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 733.31, “filling vacancies in appointive or elective offices,” the four Republican Ontario Precinct Committeemen will meet to determine a replacement for the Council-at-Large position.
A meeting will be scheduled in the next several weeks, but if someone is interested in the position, they are encouraged to email Richland County Republican party Central Committee Mark Arnold at ontario1994@aol.com with a cover letter and resume.
