When the Polar Express pulled into Shelby, its train cars were painted with snowmen, Christmas packages and a Christmas tree and carrying Santa, Mrs. Claus and even some elves.
The city of Shelby presented “A Night of Christmas Magic” downtown on Nov. 24, and despite the cold temperatures plenty of people came out for the celebration.
The Polar Express, sponsored by Ashland Railway and the Shelby Area Business Group, arrived around 5:30 p.m. at the Train Depot on Main St. to cheers from excited children and joyful adults.
“Pioneer Culinary Arts was proud to participate in such a wonderful community event, providing a “decorate your own cookie” station for those who attended,” said communications coordinator Katie Stone.
