Ohio Cardinal Conference

Mansfield Senior is the outright Ohio Cardinal Conference (OCC) champion as they railed from an early third quarter deficit to beat rival Madison (45-16) at Arlin Field. “Honestly I think the team that was the most physical the first couple of quarters will had the edge going into the second half,” said Mansfield Senior coach Chioke Bradley. The Tygers returned a punt and a pic for a score when outscoring Madison 31-6 in the second half.

Second place in the league goes to Ashland, who beat Lexington (42-29) on Friday. They finished 6-1 in the league. “Our kids have really come on through the year. Our lineman has just kept getting better,” said coach Scott Valentine. Third goes to the Clear Fork Colts. They pounded West Holmes (42-13) by holding West Holmes to 198 yards rushing. “If you can limit them to a negative play on first down, two to three yards at the most you can slow them down,” said Clear Fork coach Dave Carroll. Hunter Evans scored three times for the Colts.

Orrville and Wooster are playing tonight.

North Central Conference

Galion and Colonel Crawford will share the last North Central Conference (NCC) title. The Tigers shutout Upper Sandusky (27-0) to claim their share.

“The last two weeks our defense has been lights out. Our offense has been playing well. I feel a lot more comfortable,” said coach Chris Hawkins. Danian Watkins ran, passed and returned an interception for scores.

Crawford scored 38 points in the first quarter and pounded Crestline (58-6). Wynford got 101 yards rushing and a score from Hayden Rhodes in (47-7) win over Riverdale. “It is the first time in eight years we have faced week 10 knowing our season was over and it was very difficult on ours kids,” said Wynford coach Gabe Helbert. Also, Cole Murtiff scored twice and Bucyrus edged Buckeye Central (23-18) in the other NCC game.

Tiffin Columbian’s nine game winning streak gave them the outright Northern Ohio League title. Ryan Lynch rushed for 290 yards and three touchdowns in the Tornadoes (41-18) win over Ontario Friday. Norwalk finishes second in the NOL after a (51-16) win over Willard. Jordan Johnson threw for four touchdowns.

Finally, Bellevue hammered Sandusky (49-21) on Friday.
