Following is an Ohio Department of Transportation Traffic Advisory for District 3, a construction report for Richland County for the week of Sept. 9.

US Route 42

US 42 (Ashland Road), between East 5th Street and Central Avenue in the City of Mansfield, is closed as part of a bridge repair project. The detour route for local traffic is US 42 to East 5th Street, west on East 5th Street to Wayne Street, north on Wayne Street to Orange Street, east on Orange Street to Central Avenue, south on Central Avenue and reverse for southbound motorists. The detour route for through traffic is US 42 to East 5th Street, west on East 5th Street to Wayne Street, north on Wayne Street to State Route 545, north on SR 545 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to US 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-September 2013.

US Route 42

US 42, between McElroy Road and Pavonia Road, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013.

Interstate 71 (Morrow County)

I-71, from just south of the Morrow/Richland County line to State Route 95 (between mile markers 158 and 150), is reduced to two narrowed lanes of traffic as part of a reconstruction and widening project. Two 11’foot lanes are being maintained in each direction, and I-71 northbound is using a crossover traffic pattern through the remainder of the project. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013.

Interstate 71

I-71, from just south of State Route 39 to the Ashland County line (between mile markers 172 and 178), has intermittent lane closures for work as part of a preventive maintenance project. Two lanes will be maintained at all times during the daytime hours in each direction, and one lane will be maintained at night. Work will be complete in October 2013.

State Route 545

SR 545, between US Route 30 and State Route 96, has intermittent single lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in December 2013.

• SR 545, at its bridge over the Black Fork River (between Pavonia Road and Vantilburg Road), is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with a temporary signal through early-October.

• SR 545, at its bridge over Whetstone Creek (just south of State Route 603), is reduced to one lane of two-way traffic maintained with a temporary signal through mid-September.

Trimble Road, Mansfield

Trimble Road, near its interchange with US Route 30 in the City of Mansfield, may have intermittent single lane closures for finalization work as part of a traffic signal replacement project from National Parkway to Longview Avenue. The project is expected to be complete in October 2013.
