The Spartans’ boys soccer squad opened the season on Monday, August 19 with a 5-0 victory at East Knox.
Danny Rice started the scoring for the Spartans on a cross from Adam Blunk. Adam Blunk also assisted on the next goal by Michael Berick. David Hall scored the third goal unassisted on a long shot attempt that cleared the goaltende’sr hands. Adam Blunk scored the fourth goal on an assist from Hunter Brock.
All the scoring happened in the first half with Danny Rice finishing his second goal of the game on a one-touch from Adam Blunk, his third assist of the match.
The Spartans outshot the Bulldogs 20-1. Josh Adamescu preserved the shut-out for the Spartans. St. Peter’s record is 1-0-0 and they traveled to Norwalk next to face the Truckers.
