Robert M. Mutsch, 92, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 2013 at Samaritan Regional Health System. He was born March 14, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Pauline M. (Vogel) and Joseph M. Mutsch. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII serving aboard the USS Pride. Bob was a letter carrier with the US Postal Service, retiring on December 28, 1980. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed traveling and had visited every state and capital city.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bachman) Mutsch of Ashland; daughter, Kathleen (Jack) Hardesty of Ashland; two sons, Kenneth Mutsch of Spring, TX and Thomas (Sharon) Mutsch of Ashland; three grandchildren, Jacob Hardesty, Jennifer (Jarett) Ramey and Johanna Mutsch; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances M. Besch.
Private services will be observed by the family at a later date. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mr. Mutsch.
