Davitt “Dave” Hammer, 46, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday evening September 1, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 2, 1973 in Mansfield to Steve & Deborah Hammer Sr., he has been a Mansfield resident the majority of his life.

Dave had many alter egos, such as Dave the Driver and was owner/operator of Pooper Scoopers Dog Waste Removal. He and his wife are members of Crossroads Community Church and attended Mosaic Church. Dave played cornhole competitively and played in many major tournaments. He preferred to play cornhole without his shoes whenever possible.

He also liked to watch MMA fighting and loved watching all of the Ohio sporting teams, The Ohio State University, Browns, Cavs, and Indians. He also loved to cook and spend time playing with his animals, especially his dogs, Cooper & Ellie May.

He is survived by his wife, Stacey ( Heuberger) Hammer; his parents, Steve and Deborah Hammer Sr.; brothers, Steve (Tammy) Hammer Jr. of Bellevue and  Scott (Lindy) Hammer of Lexington; brother-in-law, John (Mikayla) Kahl of Mansfield; grandmother, Omega Cole of Mansfield and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delbert & Ruth Moore, Willard Cole and Frank & Ruth Hammer and father and mother-in-law, Robert & Phyllis Buck and nephew, Anthony Parrish.

A memorial service and gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later date. In honor of Dave, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Richland County Humane Society 3025 Park Ave. West, Mansfield, Ohio 44906 or to the Richland County Dog Shelter 810 N. Home Road, Mansfield, Ohio  44906. Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society assisted the family with arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Services will be held at Crossroads Community Church Sunday, September 15th at 2:00pm.
