What’s the difference between membership and donation?
Your membership is a paid product that gives you unlimited access to all of our reporting. It’s a transaction, just like subscribing to any digital service.
A donation is a voluntary, tax-deductible gift that helps us expand our capacity to produce community-centered, solutions-focused journalism. Donations support the mission behind the membership, but they don’t change your access level.
Both matter — they just serve different purposes.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, we partner with The GroundTruth Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit for all donations. You will receive your gift receipt from GroundTruth for tax purposes
Do I need to donate to keep my membership benefits?
No. Your membership is already active and gives you full access for the length of your subscription. A donation is completely optional and won’t affect your membership status.
Why would someone donate after becoming a member?
Many members choose to go a step further because they want to support more reporting, deeper storytelling, and the community engagement work that strengthens our region.
