MANSFIELD — The Richland County Board of Elections needs poll workers for the
May 5 primary election.
Poll workers are essential to ensuring that all registered voters have a smooth, secure and accessible Election Day experience, local elections officials said.
“Poll workers are the backbone of democracy,” said local elections Director Matt Finfgeld said.
“Their service helps make sure every voter can cast a ballot with confidence. We welcome individuals of all backgrounds to sign up and support their neighbors on Election Day,” he said.
Poll workers are compensated for their training and service, with pay ranging from $170 to $215. Responsibilities will include assisting voters, operating voting equipment, and closing the polls at the end of the day. Training will be provided prior to the election.
“Free, fair, and secure elections are made possible through the active participation of our community,” said Deputy Director Jane Zimmermann.
“Whether you’re serving for the first time or returning for another election, your contribution matters,” she said.
