Lexington showed it was ready to play, using an early thrust to carve out a 20-17 advantage over Mansfield Madison as the first quarter ended.
The Minutemen moved ahead by earning a 27-25 advantage over the Rams at the end of the second quarter.
Mansfield Madison broke in front at the beginning of the final quarter with a 38-37 lead over Lexington.
The Rams held on with a 10-8 scoring edge in the final quarter.
