Ronald E. Lemon passed away Monday, January 26th, 2026, at OhioHealth Hospital in Mansfield at the age of 85. He was born on October 17th, 1940, in Mansfield to the late Foster (Katherine (née Hunter)) Lemon.
Ron was a dedicated man, whether it be to his family, his church, his school district and his career. On October 12th, 1985, he married his loving wife, Martha (née Burkey) Lemon.
Together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. Ron and Martha loved to travel to Florida during cold winters. He was a graduate of Madison High School in 1958. For 32 years he was a loyal employee of The Ohio State Reformatory until his retirement. He also attended East Mansfield United Presbyterian and then East Hills United Presbyterian. Ron was an avid card player starting at the young age of 5 spending his time with family and friends playing cards including euchre and pinochle. Around his former neighborhood on Lakewood Drive in Mansfield, he was known to be “the mower man” because everyone knows you must mow the lawn in low-first gear.
Ron will be fondly remembered by his loving children, Kelly (Ken) Kirchenstiner, Ronald G. (Julie) Lemon, Jason Adkins and Julie (Rene) Clark; his grandchildren, Keely and Kaylyn Kirchenstiner, Justin (Alisha Tarr) Lemon, Jessica (Christian Perez-Santillanes) Adkins, Alexis (Ethan) Rader, Jarrett (Makayla Tyo) Mandusic, and Peyton Mandusic; his brothers, Robert Lemon, Rodney (Linda) Lemon, Stanley (Jennifer) Lemon. He also leaves behind 6 nieces and nephews; his sisters-in-law, Marianne (James) Daniels and Eleanor (Marshall) Wade; former wife, Mariellen Miller; great-grandchildren, Willow Rader and another on the way, and Weston Mandusic.
Ron would like to make a special thank you to niece, Michelle Enix and her son, Mason.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved niece and nephew, Tracy Lee and Nicholas Lemon.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cleveland Clinic on South Trimble Rd. and at OhioHealth Hospital for his excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main Street, Mansfield, on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026. Friends and family may gather from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. where a memorial service will begin at 3:30pm.
