COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Sunday that troopers will be conducting statewide OVI checkpoints to deter and intercept impaired drivers on Friday, May 15.
The counties where the statewide checkpoints will take place will be announced the day before the checkpoints. Locations will be announced the morning of the checkpoints.
“If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a sober driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” the OSHP said in a press release.
Operational support for the statewide checkpoints will be provided by local law enforcement agencies.
