MANSFIELD – The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Board of Governors convened on Wednesday, Jan. 21 to honor an esteemed member of the MOESC family, Jennifer Crum, as she attended her final board meeting.
Crum is set to retire at the end of January, marking the conclusion of her remarkable tenure at MOESC.
Crum will conclude her impactful career at MOESC after serving for seven years. The Board of Governors acknowledged her unwavering commitment and significant contributions to MOESC by presenting her with a certificate of commendation for her service and dedication to MOESC.
Superintendent Kevin Kimmel conveyed his appreciation for her work.
“Jennifer Crum’s leadership and service have had a profound and lasting impact on Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center and the many districts we support,” Kimmel said. “For seven years, she has led Student Services with unwavering dedication, professionalism and a deep commitment to students and families.
“Jen is widely respected across our region and throughout the state, and her loyalty to this organization is unmatched. While she will be greatly missed, we are grateful for her tireless service and wish her nothing but happiness as she begins this well-earned retirement.”
As Jennifer Crum prepares to embark on a new chapter in her life, MOESC extends heartfelt thanks and best wishes for Crum’s future endeavors. Her legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire excellence and dedication within the Mid-Ohio ESC community.
Also during the Board of Governors meeting, the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center had two new Board members who received their Oath of Office during the organizational meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Mike Grady was elected and represents Richland County and Dr. Brent Winand was appointed to an unexpired term representing Morrow County. In addition, Douglas Theaker was appointed Board President while William McFarland was assigned as Board Vice- President.
Finally, the Board was recognized for Ohio School Boards Association School Board Recognition Month. The Ohio School Boards Association celebrates School Board Recognition Month every January to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our society.
Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center joins districts throughout the state to recognize school board members’ significant contributions to their communities.

MOESC Superintendent Kevin D. Kimmel presented everyone with a framed certificate of commendation on behalf of the Ohio School Boards Association.
“We are very lucky to have a dedicated Board of Governors that works closely with education professionals and community members to create an educational vision for our client districts and their students,” Kimmel said.
“On behalf of the students and staff of our client districts and our community, I would like to personally thank the board members for their efforts in providing leadership for our educational service center.”
