Justin McCraney erupted for 25 points and eight rebounds to lead the Rams to a thrilling, 64-60 double-overtime victory over Lexington in an Ohio Cardinal Conference clash.

This was Madison’s third straight win and fifth victory in its last seven games. That’s a far cry from the 0-5 start that marked the beginning of the season.

Dantrell Hughes poured in a game-high 26 points and hauled down 10 rebounds for Lexington. Jayden Perkins chipped in 14 points.

The Minutemen took an 11-8 first-quarter lead and carried a 22-21 edge into halftime. Madison moved on top 36-34 heading to the fourth period, but Lex knotted the game at 48-48 forcing overtime.

The first extra session ended at 53-53, before the Rams pulled away with an 11-7 scoring advantage in the second overtime.

Madison is now 6-7 overall, 3-4 in the OCC and will play at Ashland on Tuesday night.

Lexington falls to 4-9 overall, 2-5 in the league. The Minutemen are at Mansfield Senior on Tuesday night.
