SHELBY — The Little Shops of Shelby’s third floor is nearly unrecognizable.
Why? Because the space has been transformed from floor to ceiling into a sweet holiday experience, better known as the “Christmas Candy Wonderland.”
Revamped for 2025, the annual attraction at 40 E. Main. St. in downtown Shelby opened to the public on Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The magical display of Christmas and candy decor will be available to tour every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. through Dec. 25.
The Little Shops of Shelby is open seven days a week through Christmas Day — Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Santa will be at the East Main Street business on Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. and the Grinch on Sundays, also from 12 to 3 p.m. Cameras are encouraged as the wonderland offers several opportunities for festive photos.
“We’ve doubled the size of the display (from last year),” said Careen Fleck, owner of The Little Shops of Shelby.
Admission for the “Christmas Candy Wonderland” is one canned good, which will be donated to the city’s FISH food pantry, or one can of pet food that will be donated to Veterans with Pets. Monetary donations are also accepted.
Fleck said 355 cans of food were collected last year.
