Thomas A. (Tom) Kasper
Thomas A. (Tom) Kasper left his temporary earthly home on November 16, 2025. He was born on April 24,1956, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Charles C. Kasper and Theresa Radojcsics Kasper Copland.
During his lifetime, Tom held many interesting and varied occupations. From an early age, Tom possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, selling his handmade loom pot holders to his dad’s tax clients for 25 cents each. After graduating from Madison High School in 1974, he began his career as an EMT for Byrd Ambulance Service and volunteered with the Mifflin Township Fire Department where he made many long-lasting friendships. While he spent most of his career in car sales and management at both Bud Young’s in Shelby and Graham’s in Mansfield, he also proudly owned a semi truck and spent several years traveling across the country transporting freight. When he retired from truck driving due to unexpected health issues, he began a successful eBay business alongside his wife Paula Fox Kasper.
Tom was a true lover of the outdoors and wildlife. He would happily fish in any lake, stream, or ocean and was especially fond of Lake Erie perch and walleye. It’s not clear which he enjoyed more – catching them or eating them. He was also an avid hunter of rabbits, deer, and especially morel mushrooms. As he matured, his soft heart led him to give up hunting wildlife. Never was there a more passionate animal lover, and he was especially devoted to his beagles Bandit and Pumpkin.
A regular attendee of both Mayflower Congregational Church and Hope Lutheran Church, Tom loved singing in the choir, where he blessed everyone with his amazing voice.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister-in-law Katie (James) Kasper. Missing him and cherishing his memory are his son Matthew J. Kasper, brother James Kasper, sister and loving caregiver Ann (Daniel) Kasper Griesbach, stepsister Laura (Donald) Kirschenheiter, aunt Beverly (Jake) Radojcsics, and four nephews.
Tom’s sister is especially grateful to SouthernCare Hospice, in particular dream-team Sarah and Kristi, and all who provided care for Tom. A special thanks to everyone at Wedgewood Estates who surrounded Tom with love and compassionate care.
In keeping with Tom’s generous, kind, and giving spirit, he donated his body to The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Per his request, there will be no services. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
