MANSFIELD — On Saturday, Oct. 4th, the Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment (M.A.K.E.) held its monthly belt promotion, celebrating the hard work and dedication of students of all ages.

Family and friends gathered to cheer on participants as they demonstrated skills, discipline and focus they have developed through consistent training.

Under the guidance of Sensei Reneta Music, students showcased their growth in traditional karate, stances, kata, and self-defense applications. The promotion emphasized M.A.K.E.’s core principles — perseverance, integrity, indomitable spirit, courtesy and self control — reflecting the dojo’s mission to help each individual become respectful citizens.

Music praised the students for their persistence and progress.

“Karate is more than physical technique,” she said. “It’s about the mindset — the discipline to keep improving and the courage to be your best self.”

Her commitment and positive spirit embody the heart of the M.A.K.E. community.

As the dojo continues to grow, students were reminded each promotion marks not an end, but a new beginning — another step in the lifelong journey of self-improvement.
